Social worker transfer
On 1 August 2012, the regulation of social workers in England transferred to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). HCPC Chief Executive Marc Seale and Independent social worker Joanna Nicolas answered questions from social workers in England and the public live on web TV. To find more about the regulation of social workers visit here.
As part of this campaign, we worked closely with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Royal College of Nurses, Royal College of General Practitioners, Pulse digital and Doctors.net.uk to improve awareness of the role of the HCPC and the importance of referring service users to registered professionals. This campaign utilised a variety of channels, including articles in industry news, online advertising and live events. We also distributed a referrers guide publication to support the campaign.
Our advertising campaigns are aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of using registered health and care professionals. We have run a variety of advertising campaigns in recent years. These have included spots on the UK-wide ClassicFM radio station and adverts on public transportation (London Underground and buses in Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield and Swansea). We have also run localised campaigns, for example in the Birmingham area, incorporating mailings, radio, transport and print ads and a live stand in the local shopping centre.
